Kids and snow...


 One of the things i like about being a parent is watching and seeing the kids enjoy themselves and playing (eh.. don't get me started on the noise or the cleaning...). Living in Norway, we get a lot of weather, the kids couldn't care less. For the record: If someone mentions "snow day" up here, we will laugh for a week before we go outside, shovel our car out of 1 meter of fresh snow and drive of to kindergarten and work. When we arrive at work, we'll have a nice cup of coffee and laugh at all the people who are panicking across the globe, and just for fun we'll check the status at the local airport (open as usual). The kids loves snow, I mean who doesn't? Falling is soft, sleds are super fun, you have skis, you can throw snowballs, build caves and snowmen.. The only thing that isn't fun is the eternal shoveling, don't get me wrong, a little bit is fine, but this winter it got ridiculous. Every.damn.day.

Right... brb, I have to go shovel some more while the kids are sleeping.

Diet start.

Being in a relationship, the consensus is that you gain weight. Some people call it "happy weight" or "settle weight". In my case, this weight has been extreme. I've always had a big body, being Nordic, being big (tall, broad shouldered, muscular) is a natural part of my genetics. That being said, the point I'm at now, is far beyond genetics. Genetics is why I, even at top athletic level (medals from the national championship, in an Asian Martial-Art), weighed in at 101kg before contests. At that time, I was a EU size 44-46 and full of muscles (Finding clothes in a normal store was still a challenge). I trained on average 20 hours a week during this time, and ate normally. I was at this level from 16 to 19 yrs of age. Then I met my husband... Due to an unhappy youth period, I was keen to move out when I met my husband, so I did. I basicly moved in on our first date. It sounds strange, but that first date was so horrible, that it has become our greatest mem...

Just me, I guess

So, I guess this is me. A -seemingly- happy person. Don't let the smile fool you. Inside, I'm exhausted and feel like an old used mopp. It's not all bad though, I have two small children, full of energy and curiosity, which turns out to be rather expensive... What happens when you throw a candelabra at the TV? It breaks... What happens if you start spraying perfume everywhere? The scent sticks (I've had my car windows open for a week now). I do have a husband.. but in all honesty, he makes more of a mess than the kids do. Teaching is my chosen profession, I currently teach English (EFL) even though I'm technically still in university myself. I guess you can say gaming is a part of life too, WoW all the way ;) I'm not sure what do do with this blog, I think I made it mostly to have a place to talk to myself. I often feel like I have so much to say, but when the time comes to say it, it just kinda freezes up. So, what to expect? Anything really... or not...
