Since I started the diet on Monday I've discovered two things. Firstly, shakes tastes like crap, whoever invented them definitely did not go to culinary school, and secondly, when you're on a 500calorie a day diet, the first days are absolute hell. Let me elaborate. When I started doing the shakes on Monday, I didn't exactly expect fireworks in my mouth, but I did expect something... manageable... These shakes, even though the taste itself isn't horrid, the aftertaste is atrocious, and so is the texture. I struggle with getting them down. I will admit though, that the soup tastes better, it's just waaaay to heavy on the basil, which creates this bitter scent that really makes you think twice before drinking it. All in all, the soup is manageable though. Oh yeah... the brand is called Allevo, when the boxes I have are empty, I'm definitely going to try another brand. Being in a relationship, the consensus is that you gain weight. Some people call it "happy weight" or "settle weight". In my case, this weight has been extreme. I've always had a big body, being Nordic, being big (tall, broad shouldered, muscular) is a natural part of my genetics. That being said, the point I'm at now, is far beyond genetics. Genetics is why I, even at top athletic level (medals from the national championship, in an Asian Martial-Art), weighed in at 101kg before contests. At that time, I was a EU size 44-46 and full of muscles (Finding clothes in a normal store was still a challenge). I trained on average 20 hours a week during this time, and ate normally.
